What is Instagram Reels?

  • Released globally on 5th August 2020 on Instagram, first in Brazil (Cenas, 11-2019), then France and Germany (June 24th 2020)
  • Facebook’s / Instagram’s response to TikTok
  • Matches peoples desire to get fun, short videos in an easy-to-use stream
  • Creation very similar to Instagram Stories
  • 9:16 portrait mode video content
  • 3-30 seconds in length
  • Directly filmed within Reels camera or uploaded from comera roll
  • Can be filmed as one take or a series of takes stitched together
  • Mobile Only: Can only be uploaded on mobile devices
